Phoenix Cinema: Asteroid City

In a 1950s retro-futuristic TV special, a host (Bryan Cranston) introduces a documentary on the creation of a fictional play, "Asteroid City," by playwright Conrad Earp (Edward Norton). The play unfolds at a youth astronomy convention in the desert town of Asteroid City. 

War photojournalist Augie Steenbeck (Jason Schwartzman) arrives with his family, facing personal challenges. A romance blossoms among the characters, and a UFO incident puts the town under military quarantine. The play's events become national news, leading to a revolt against the military.
