The West Legacy Workshop Day is a vibrant, family-friendly celebration of rhythm and culture! 

Join us to honour the life and passion of Carol West, a beloved local world music tutor. Spend the day drumming, tapping and creating in
six incredible workshops: feel the heat of Samba and West African Drumming, groove to Steel Pans, discover the power of Taiko, experience the tranquillity of Gamelan, and explore sound with Music Technology.

Samba Spectacle: Feel the irresistible energy and learn the booming beats of Brazil’s carnival!

Steel Pan Serenity: Discover the sweet, shimmering sound of the Caribbean and learn a catchy tune on the pans.

Taiko Thunder: Experience the power, choreography and intensity of Japanese drumming.

Gamelan Gems: Explore the intricate sounds of Indonesian percussion and create a collective musical
masterpiece.

Music Tech Takeover: Dive into the digital world and learn how to create and manipulate your own unique sounds.

West African Wonders: Master traditional rhythms and connect with the heart of the Djembe drum.

Fun, accessible, and hands-on workshops – perfect for the whole family and beginners.

Half-day passes entitle the ticket holder access to three workshops in either the morning or afternoon session. Full-day passes get you into all six workshops.
