Half Term Cinema: The Railway Children Return

The Railway Children Return is inspired by one of the most beloved British family films of all time. An enchanting and heart-warming adventure where Bobbie (Jenny Agutter) is joined by Annie (Sheridan Smith) her daughter.

Set during World War 2, life in Britain’s cities has become perilous. Three evacuee children Lily, Pattie, and Ted Watts are sent by their mother from Salford to the village of Oakworth.

They are met at the train station by Bobbie and her daughter, Annie, and her grandson Thomas. They welcome the evacuees and help them to settling into their new life in the countryside.

Whilst exploring the area the children come across an injured American soldier Abe hiding in the railyard…do they protect him or turn him in?
