Edinburgh Comedy Previews: Elliot Steel & Christopher Macarthur-Boyd

Some of the UK’s top comedians join us to try out new material before the Fringe! Last but not least: Elliot Steel & Christopher Macarthur-Boyd.

Marked as 'One to Watch' by the Independent, Elliot Steel (co-host of hit podcast Btec Philosophers) is a rising talent on the UK's comedy circuit. Receiving critical acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with his shows Love and Hate Speech in 2023 and Soft Boi Core in 2024, you won't want to miss this brand-new work in progress show.

Elliot’s special Carrying The Boats received over 50k views in two weeks after posting on YouTube. As seen on Comedy Central's Roast Battle and Live from the Comedy Store, and as heard on BBC Radio 1's Comedy Lounge and BBC Radio 4. Best Debut Show Nominee at Leicester Comedy Festival 2015.

‘This is a show to be proud of. It’s pacy, funny and full of ideas.  Steel’s observations are genuinely original and he works them into very clever material.’ ★★★★ (Beyond The Joke)
‘Steel expertly weaves together a story’ ★★★★ (Chortle)

Plus support from Christopher Macarthur-Boyd, the most powerfully wistful comedian in Scotland. Co-host of the podcast Here Comes the Guillotine with Frankie Boyle and Susie McCabe. As seen on his 800 Pound Gorilla Media stand-up special Oh No, BBC Two’s New World Order, BBC Scotland’s Up For It, and Comedy Central Live.

“Like all the best comics, he exudes the pally intimacy of a (devilishly witty) best mate.” Rolling Stone

“A delightfully funny guy and a real treat of a show. This is 100 percent a name to watch.” ★★★★ Entertainment Now

“Scotland is producing some compelling young comics right now, with CMB chief among them” ★★★★ Chortle
