Our Kids Drama group for youngsters aged between 8 and 11 provides the opportunity to have fun and develop confidence and skills through drama. At the end of each term, the group will showcase their work to family and friends on the stage of The Phoenix Theatre.
Sessions are run by Joshua Dixon, who will teach the children theatre skills and techniques including vocal coaching, creative movement, mime and improvisation.
Sessions begin with a warm up, using drama games as ice breakers, followed by improvisations or work on scripted or devised scenes.
Drama is an excellent way to build confidence, enhance social skills, improve co-ordination, mobility and dexterity and will enable children to have fun and a sense of belonging and well being.
After school drama clubs can be offered as part of the extended schools programme.
